I’ve been involved before the shoot on this project : Kamir Meridja, the Director and Sam Meridja, the Cinematographer had in mind Black & White references such as the movie “Blonde” or even music video “Woodkid - Iron”.

We discussed what they liked for each look and based on the camera test footage they shot, I created a ShowLUT tailored for their lens and camera.

“ Creating a LUT before the shoot has been very valuable on set.

First of all for me as a Cinematographer, I could preview the way I would light or expose for the scene.

To me it is even more important when we work with Black and White, where each and every nuances has its importance.

For the Director, seeing the image as close as the world he envisioned allows him for more precision in his artistic endeavour : removing constraints or technical aspects which are mostly important to other team members.

Finally, being able to offer a real image bias to the artist and her team while shooting is non negotiable additional comfort.
